Nationals cancel Friday exhibition game

WASHINGTON — The Washington Nationals will not play the Friday exhibition game against the Boston Red Sox because of inclement weather.

The Nationals will not play their first game back home since returning from spring training in Florida Thursday evening because of heaving rain moving through the D.C. area. The game will not be rescheduled, Nationals’ communications team said.

If you had tickets to Friday’s 4:05 p.m. game, you can exchange them in person at the Nationals Park box office for any 2017 regular season home game, subject to availability.  Tickets cannot be exchanged for the April 3 home opener against the Marlins or the Chicago Cubs series (June 26-29), the communications office said.

The Nationals have another exhibition game again the Red Sox scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Max Bishop Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. Opening Day is set for 1:05 p.m. Monday at Nationals Park against the Marlins.
