Nationals Park offers respite from weekend heat

WASHINGTON — In anticipation of hot and steamy weather, Nationals Park plans to set up a cooling station Saturday and Sunday for fans attending the games.

National Weather Service’s forecast for D.C. for Saturday puts highs in the mid 90s, with a heat index as high as 100. Sunday’s heat index could reach 105.

When the Nats face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers this weekend, people can cool off in the Roosevelt and Kennedy rooms, where there will be free air conditioning and ice water. Misting fans also will be placed throughout the park, a spokeswoman for the Washington Nationals Baseball Club said in an email.

Nationals Park is located at 1500 South Capitol St., SE. The Roosevelt and Kennedy rooms are located in the Conference Center, club level on the third base side.

Guests are permitted to bring handheld, battery-operated fans and two 1-liter, factory-sealed bottles of water.
