WASHINGTON — ESPN the Magazine’s Body Issue — the Worldwide Leader’s response to Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Edition, but featuring actual athletes — will include Nationals slugger Bryce Harper this year.
The edition won’t be available online until July 6 and on newsstands until July 10, but ESPN released the cover image for the edition on Thursday, featuring a dirt-covered, but otherwise naked Harper from the hips up.

Harper discussed his body, as well as injuries and the club’s World Series expectations in an interview with ESPN’s Stacey Pressman.
“I take a lot of pride in working out,” Harper told Pressman. “I work as hard as I can off the field, as I do on the field. And I enjoy working out…a lot.”
The issue will also feature Washington Spirit and U.S. Women’s National Team defender Ali Krieger.
