The D.C. Chamber of Commerce said Friday afternoon its search for a new president and CEO will go on.
The news comes one week after the Washington Business Journal reported June 30 the business organization had offered its top spot to Victor Reinoso, a former D.C. deputy mayor and education-technology entrepreneur, but Reinoso had yet to accept.
It is unclear whether Reinoso and the chamber could not come to terms or if there was some other reason the group is continuing its search. But D.C. Chamber Chairman Carl Hairston wrote in the statement that the chamber will continue its “review of a shortlist of candidates” for the position.
“We will move forward to select the chamber’s next president and CEO,” Hairston said. “The board is committed to finding the right person who will lead the chamber’s work to make the District a great place to live, work, and do business.”
