Feb. 14 is the day of love for those who have the love of their life and those that are still looking for that special someone.

Nearly $28 billion will be spent on Valentine’s Day, making it the third-most expensive holiday this year in the United States, according to WalletHub.

Flowers, candy and cards are the Valentine’s Day gift staples, but what if you want to think outside the box and give your “person” something unexpected?

WTOP looked for some shopping advice from the mini experts at The Bethesda Country Day School in Maryland.

Not only did these four- and five-year-olds share their shopping tips, they opened up on the true meaning of love and Valentine’s Day.
