WASHINGTON — A photographer caught a memorable photo when waves on a Nantucket, Massachusetts beach nearly froze.
Jonathan Nimerfroh, a photographer, says he was walking on the beach in Nantucket on Feb. 25 when he saw waves that looked more like slush coming it.
That’s when he snapped a photo of waves semi-freezing as they crested.
He described the water as a “slurpee surf” on his Instagram.
The waves were semi-frozen because there was so much ice inside them, according to CBS Boston.

It’s not the only impressive water to freeze over. Tourists are flocking to Niagara Falls to see the iced-over spectacle.
