WASHINGTON — A six-week Red Line shutdown begins Saturday of Rhode Island Avenue and Brookland stations, and other major weekend track work disrupts the Silver, Orange, Blue and Yellow lines.

On the Red Line, weekend shuttle buses run between Fort Totten, Brookland, Rhode Island Avenue and NoMa-Gallaudet Stations. There are additional backup options on weekdays during the shutdown. Read more in the WTOP Track Work Guide for this round-the-clock work zone.

On the Blue, Orange and Silver lines, significant single-tracking Saturday and Sunday between Foggy Bottom and Smithsonian reduces trains on Orange and Blue lines to only every 26 minutes each.

Silver Line trains are doubly cut back: only every 26 minutes and only between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston.

On the Yellow Line, trains are cut back to run only between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square, and only every 15 minutes.

Green Line trains are also scheduled every 15 minutes with single-tracking between L’Enfant Plaza and Navy Yard-Ballpark.
