Metro service disrupted after man falls onto tracks

WASHINGTON — Metro service on the Blue, Orange and Silver lines was disrupted for about and hour between McPherson Square and Foggy Bottom stations after a man fell onto the tracks on Sunday.

D.C. Fire and EMS rescued a man that had fallen onto the train tracks at the Farragut West Metro station around 2 p.m.

The man was not struck by a train, said D.C. Fire and EMS, but he was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.

Officials say it is unclear why the man fell onto the train tracks.
