$60 retro Nintendo game console on sale Friday

WASHINGTON — Long before Wii U, Xbox and PlayStation 4, video game lovers got their fix with the Nintendo Entertainment System.

More than three decades after Nintendo was introduced, a miniature version of the classic console, retailing for $59.99, goes on sale Friday, with high demand.

The NES Classic Edition console,  which was announced in July, comes pre-loaded with 30 Nintendo favorites, including Donkey Kong, Mario Bros. and Pac-Man.

The game comes with one old-school controller, and an HDMI cable, to connect to modern TV. Additional controllers for the system can be bought for $9.99.

According to the Nintendo website, the new console will be sold on Amazon, and at Best Buy, GameStop and Target.
