UPDATE 6:42 a.m. 11/5/16: Crime Solvers has increased cash rewards for tipsters from $1,000 of Monday, Oct. 31 to $2,500.
WASHINGTON — Deputies are looking for a man who crashed into a woman’s vehicle on Kings Highway then sexually assaulted her on the side of the road.
Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened sometime between 2:45 and 3:15 a.m. Monday in Stafford, Virginia.
The woman was driving east on Kings Highway, near Sherwood Forest Farm Road, when a man struck her vehicle. After the crash, police said, the man forced the woman out her vehicle and dragged her into a nearby ditch, where he sexually assaulted her over a span of two hours, police said.
Police said the man drove off, continuing to travel east on Kings Highway.
Once the assailant was gone, the woman got back to her vehicle and called 911 — around the same time a Stafford County deputy was arriving.
Police said the man may have been driving a dark-colored SUV and that it was possible the vehicle had orange paint transfer and sustained damage in the crash.
The assailant was described as a “Hispanic” male who was about 30 years old, around 5 feet 8 inches tall and between 170 and 180 pounds. He has black hair and a short black beard. At the time, he was wearing light blue jeans and a white tank top that was covered by a long-sleeved plaid shirt.
A men’s plaid shirt was recovered at the scene, which police said was left behind by the assailant.
Police have asked any one with information — especially those who may have seen something between 2:30 and 5 a.m. along Kings Highway, between Forest Lane Road and Michael Scott Lane, near the entrance to the water treatment plant — to call the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office at 540-658-4400; text “Stafford” plus the tip to 274637, or submit the tip online.
