WASHINGTON — Aspen Foods is recalling select Oven Cravers frozen, raw stuffed and breaded chicken products because of potential Salmonella contamination.
The product was shipped to stores and food service locations nationwide, according to the USDA. On Thursday, grocery chain Giant announced it would voluntarily recall the products.
The following products are included in this recall:
- Oven Cravers Chicken Parmesan, 10 oz., UPC 4542153140 with a best by date between July 14, 2016 and October 10, 2016 and an establishment number of “P-1358” inside the USDA mark of inspection
- Oven Cravers Chicken Cordon Bleu, 10 oz., UPC 4542141512 with a best by date between July 14, 2016 and October 10, 2016 and an establishment number of “P-1358” inside the USDA mark of inspection
- Oven Cravers Broccoli and Cheese Chicken, 10 oz., UPC 4542145512 with a best by date between July 14, 2016 and October 10, 2016 and an establishment number of “P-1358” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
Salmonella infections can be life threatening, especially to those with weak immune systems.
According to Giant, there have not been any reported of illnesses to date. Customers who have purchased the recalled items should throw them away and bring the purchase receipt to Giant for a full refund.
