WASHINGTON — Wegman’s Food You Feel Good About Organic Walnut Halves & Pieces have been recalled by the store’s supplier because of possible salmonella contamination.
The voluntary recall by First Source LLC of Buffalo involves 3,276 plastic containers of walnuts.
The walnuts come in 6-ounce containers and have a best if used by date of 1/27/16 on the bottom of the container. They have a UPC code of 077890358009.
The supplier says the walnuts were sold in stores in Virginia and Maryland between Jan. 27 and March 17, 2015.
Wegmans says customers can return the walnuts for a full refund.

The Food and Drug Administration says there have been no reported illnesses.
In addition to Wegmans, Trader Joe’s also recalled raw walnuts for possible salmonella contamination.
