Suspect sought following abduction in Manassas

WASHINGTON — Police are looking  for Jorge Alberto Corea-Berrios, 34, following an abduction in Manassas, Virginia on Saturday. They say he is wanted for strangulation, abduction, rape and burglary with intent to commit a felony.

Police say Corea-Berrios forced his way into a Manassas apartment and carried off a woman at knife-point early Saturday morning. According to the police, the suspect forced his way inside and got a knife out of the kitchen, before removing the victim from the bedroom.

The suspect  cut another male occupant, who was not identified, before fleeing the scene.  That person was treated for minor injuries.

The victim was initially classified as a missing, endangered adult based on the incident.

Saturday night, police said the victim was able to escape and contact police. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment. She knows Corea-Berrios, and had an altercation with him on April 9 in which he allegedly strangled her, according to police.

Police say Corea-Berrios was last seen wearing a white sweater and light blue jeans and has local ties to both Manassas and New York.
