WASHINGTON — One person is dead after being hit by a train near Bowie State University Tuesday morning.

The victim was discovered about half a mile from the Bowie State MARC train station after 9 a.m., according to the Prince George’s County Fire Department.

The MARC Penn Line Service and Amtrak Service have been suspended in the area.

This incident comes just over a week after a person was killed by an Amtrak train while on the tracks in Prince George’s County in the area of Landover Road and John Hanson Highway.
