WASHINGTON — A Hyattsville, Maryland, man is facing multiple charges Thursday after police said they found evidence he was in possession of and distributing child pornography.
Arturo Rodriquez-Salazar, 30, was arrested Thursday morning and is charged with five counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of distribution of child pornography and two counts of possession of fictitious government identification documents, Maryland State Police said.
State police said their Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force started investigating after a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a specific internet address that was possibly involved in the distribution of child porn.
The task force then identified the residence and a search warrant was issued. Law enforcement officials searched Rodriquez-Salazar’s residence; he had electronic devices that held multiple files of child porn, state police said.
Rodriquez-Salazar is awaiting an appearance before a court commissioner.
