3 killed in recent Prince George’s Co. shootings

WASHINGTON — Police in Prince George’s County, Maryland, are investigating three fatal shootings that occurred over the weekend.

The first shooting occurred Saturday in Laurel, in the 13300 block of Edinburgh Lane and Contee Road.

At 5:20 a.m., police responded to a shooting and discovered a male with gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

At 9:40 p.m. Saturday,  police were called to a shooting in the 2200 block of Columbia Place in Hyattsville, near the Prince George’s Country Club. A teenage boy with gunshot wounds to the upper body was pronounced dead at the scene.

A third shooting was reported on Sunday evening.

Police responding to a fight that broke out at the Camden College Park Apartments at 4 p.m. found a man dead from a gunshot wound. Another man was taken to a local hospital for a head injury.

Prince George’s County police have not released information about the victims and did not provide further details about suspects.
