TEMPLE HILLS, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a crew working to repair a broken water main in a Washington suburb was robbed at gunpoint over the weekend.
Prince George’s County police say four Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission employees were working early Sunday morning in the Temple Hills area when a suspect, who was armed with a gun, approached them.
The suspect stole some of the victims’ personal belongings before fleeing. No injuries were reported.
The WSSC says repairs to the broken water main were completed and that service was restored.
Spokeswoman Lyn Riggins says the company is taking extra precautions for its crews since the robbery.
The investigation is ongoing.
