WASHINGTON — Police are searching for a newspaper vendor who stabbed a man multiple times outside a Metro station in Prince George’s County during the height of Thursday morning’s rush hour.
At about 8:40 a.m., a vendor distributing The Washington Post Express paper outside the Addison Road station in Capitol Heights got into an argument with a 24-year-old man. The confrontation then turned physical, says Metro spokesman Dan Stessel.
The vendor stabbed the man three times, including once in the stomach, Stessel adds.
It is not yet clear if the suspect and victim knew each other.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable condition.
The entire incident was captured on security cameras.
The suspect has been identified as 50-year-old Daniel R. Brown, of Temple Hills, Maryland. Police say he is wanted for attempted murder.
