WASHINGTON — A 9-year-old girl was killed in a car crash in Clinton, Maryland, on Monday night.
The crash happened when the girl’s mother attempted to make a left turn from Woodyard Road onto Canberra Drive, NBC Washington reports. The vehicle collided with a car headed in the opposite direction, which then flipped over.
Police tell NBC Washington the girl was pronounced dead on the scene, but her mother wasn’t badly hurt. The other driver’s legs were broken.
Police have not released any additional information about the crash, which was not the only incident that occurred on Monday evening. A pedestrian was reportedly hit by a car around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Kenilworth Avenue and Riverdale Road.
And in Montgomery County, a pedestrian was hit in another incident on Columbia Pike near Tech Road, according to a tweet from a Montgomery County Fire spokesman.
