Prince George’s students complain about moldy bread, raw meat

WASHINGTON — Students in Prince George’s County have taken their complaints about school meals to social media, sharing photos of nasty-looking food items on their cafeteria trays.

The pictures taken by Friendly High School students in Fort Washington show discolored food, moldy bread and meat that appears raw.

“It’s just disgusting,” senior Tamera Perry told FOX5. “They’re giving us something that’s not healthy, that can possibly cause us to die, and it’s just unacceptable.”

Students have already voiced their complaints to school staff but they have not heard back, FOX5 reports.

Prince George’s County Public Schools issued this statement to FOX5:

“PGCPS cannot confirm the origin of the photo circulating on social media, but encourages anyone who has concerns regarding meals to call 301-952-6580. Providing healthy and nutritious meals for all students is a contributing factor to high academic achievement and the district prides itself on doing so for over 129,000 students each day.”
