Prince George’s Co. officer charged with assault, child abuse

WASHINGTON — A Prince George’s County police officer is suspended without pay after his arrest in an assault and child abuse case.

Corporal Steven Moure is charged with two counts of assault and one count of child abuse in Calvert County.

Moure, who has worked for Prince George’s County Police Department for nine years, was off duty at the time of the arrest Monday.

“The allegations against Corporal Moure are troubling. Prince George’s County Police officers are expected to behave in a professional manner, both on and off duty. If an officer breaks the law, that officer will be held accountable,” Police Chief Mark Magaw said in a news release Tuesday.

Moure is assigned to the Bureau of Administration in the department.

Officials have not released any additional details about the incident leading to the arrest.
