Police release video of suspect in sexual assault of 12-year-old girl

WASHINGTON – Police are looking for a suspect who they say sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in an apartment building Wednesday morning in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Officers went to the 2100 block of Brooks Drive around 7 a.m., where the victim told police she had been sexually assaulted in a hallway. A preliminary investigation indicates the suspect followed the girl onto an elevator. When she got off, police say the suspect forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect then ran away. He is described as a black male, 17 to 22 years old, between 5-feet-6-inches to 5-feet-9-inches tall, with shoulder-length dreadlocks and a tattoo on his left forearm. He was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a red baseball hat.

Prince George’s County police say they plan to canvass the area Thursday evening.  They also released video of the suspect in connection with the investigation.
