WASHINGTON — Two children were saved from a burning home in Clinton, Md., Sunday morning and are now in the hospital being treated for their injuries.
Assistant Fire Chief Alan Doubleday of the Prince George’s County fire department, told WTOP the fire occurred in two-story single-family home on Small Drive around 7 a.m.
He said a firefighter was inside the home, rescuing one child, when another child tugged on his leg for help.
Doubleday says the firefighter took his own mask off, giving it to the second child so that the child could breathe fresh air.
The children are 13 and 10 years old, and are being treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Three adults were able to get out of the home on their own.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
