The Inn at Little Washington has debuted a two-bedroom guest cottage near its main property and restaurant, expanding the luxury offerings at the famed destination.
The Cardinal’s Nest, as the cottage is called, officially opened to guests on Thursday. It was constructed out of a restored summer kitchen building dating back to the 18th century and is part of proprietor Patrick O’Connell’s efforts to restore the colonial village of Washington.
The cottage includes two bathrooms with soaking tubs, as well as a living room with vaulted ceilings constructed around a stone fireplace preserved from the original structure. There’s also a cedar hot tub, butler’s kitchen and private garden.
Guests will receive a daily family-style breakfast delivered to the cottage.
The Cardinal’s Nest takes its name from a hotel in Ardèche, France, that was the original member of the Relais & Chateaux association of luxury properties. The Inn at Little Washington is also a member of the association.…
