When FedEx Corp. confirmed in February it had decided to cut short its naming rights deal for the Washington Commanders’ stadium, the team was quick to strip the shipping giant’s moniker from the 63,000-seat Landover venue.
Until a deal is signed with a new sponsor, the team will play at Commanders Field.

That’s the name of the public road that rings the venue and the formal address of the stadium itself, and has been since roughly 2001, when it was changed from Raljon Road — so named for Ralph and John Kent Cooke, sons of one-time team owner and stadium developer Jack Kent Cooke.
