Arlington declares former Key Bridge Marriott a ‘public nuisance,’ setting up its demolition

The former Key Bridge Marriott has been declared a public nuisance by Arlington County, which now plans to secure the property and, if needed, raze it, officials announced Friday.

The owner of the once-bustling hotel at 1401 Langston Blvd. was issued a notice of violation on May 17, with Arlington citing unsafe and unsanitary conditions. The county condemned the building, owned by Los Angeles-based Woodridge Capital Partners LLC, in March 2023.

“At that time, the property owner assumed responsibility and agreed to an action plan with the County, which included securing the property against entry and removing all trash, debris, furniture, and accelerants,” the county said Friday. “Over the past year, it has become clear the property owner has not complied with its obligation.”
