Taco Bell to return to the U Street corridor, with a boozy twist

Taco Bell is making a triumphant return to one of D.C.’s highest-profile intersections.

Even better, for those that celebrate, it’ll sell liquor.

Taco Bell is expected to replace the shuttered D.C. Noodles at 1410-1412 U St. NW, on the ground floor of the Louis at 14th Street apartment building, with a Taco Bell Cantina, according to plans obtained from ConstructConnect. CBRE manages retail leasing for that property, and its marketing brochure lists a deal pending for that 2,400-square-foot space. The plans call for 38 interior seats, 54-person occupancy in the dining room and 74-person occupancy across the entire space.

In other Taco Bell news, plans also have been drawn up, and permits filed with the District, for a Taco Bell on Barracks Row, at 411 Eighth St. SE next to Chipotle. The 2,100-square-foot space, including kitchen and office, will have a total occupancy of 15.
