The D.C. area’s private high schools have long been mantles of pedigree and privilege.
Some have been around for more than two centuries, building impressive lists of alumni and burnishing their reputations. Others are much newer, trading stuffy hallways for sleek new buildings and a chance to set a new standard.
We already put a spotlight on what U.S. News & World Report ranked as Greater Washington’s top-ranked public high schools. But scores of D.C.-area families enroll their children in local private schools as well. We now pull out the region’s top private high schools, from the latest 2024 rankings from Niche.com, an education data platform in Pittsburgh.
