10 Colleges With the Most Students 25 and Older

Schools for Nontraditional Students

If you’ve been out of high school several years and are thinking about going to college, you’re in good company. In 2015, there were 8.1 million college students in the U.S. who were age 25 and older, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.

Some colleges have sizable populations of older students, which may make some prospective students feel more comfortable on campus. Here are the 10 ranked schools that had the most students 25 and older in the 2016-2017 academic year, per data submitted to U.S. News in an annual survey.

Eight of the schools are designated as Rank Not Published, or RNP, meaning that they rank in the bottom one-fourth of their ranking category. In those cases, U.S. News calculates a rank for the school but has decided not to publish it.
