With new White House office, Kushner to tackle federal bureaucracy from a biz perspective

President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner will lead a government-wide effort to improve the inner-workings of the federal bureaucracy from a business perspective, the White House said Monday.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer announced that the Office of American Innovation “will apply the president’s ahead of schedule and under budget mentality to a wide number of government operations and service, enhancing the quality of life for all Americans.” It will have a particular focus on techology and data, Spicer said, “hearing back from industry leaders.”

“As some of its first priorities, the office will focus on modernizing the technology of every federal department, identifying tranformational infrastructure projects and reimagining the VA system so it can better serve our nation’s heroes,” Spicer said.
