The group behind several presidential and patriotically-themed restaurants around the District has another in the works. Declaration, from Presidential Restaurant Group, is coming to the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood near Nationals Park later this year.
PRG principal Alan Popovsky has signed a lease for a 3,500-square-foot restaurant in F1rst, a new mixed-use developmen t from Grosvenor Americas and McCaffery Interests Inc. Declaration’s address will be 1237 First St. SE. Rory Cameron of McCaffery represented the landlord and Billy Orlove from Rosenthal Properties represented the tenant in the lease deal.
The only full-service restaurant to have signed onto the project so far, Declaration will be located on the ground floor of a Residence Inn by Marriott that will be part of the project. It will have entrances from both the street and from the hotel’s lobby.
