WASHINGTON — As you may know, doing your Christmas and holiday shopping now could save you some coin. But, why not think about buying some new stuff for yourself, too?
Depending on what you’re in the market for, now may not be a bad time to do that, and Consumer Reports has put together a list of five products that are deeply discounted in August — things that you might need now or this winter and next summer.
For example, Consumer Reports says air conditioners and dehumidifiers are good buys right now, as are snowblowers. Yes, snowblowers. Who wants to go out in the snow to buy a snowblower?
Prices also are good in August on new outdoor furniture, another thing you can use for a while now and then later. And, there are a lot of sale prices to be found on back to school stuff — from backpacks to dorm room refrigerators.
