Harvard tops Dartmouth 23-12

HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — Paul Stanton Jr. ran for two scores, Anthony Firkser scored on a trick-play pass from Seitu Smith II Saturday and Harvard beat Dartmouth 23-12 to remain undefeated.

Coming into the game averaging 76.6 rushing yards per game, Stanton gained 180 yards on 24 carries and gave Harvard a 7-0 lead after a 3-yard run.

Smith hit fellow wide receiver Firkser on a 37-yard scoring pass, Stanton added another score on a 2-yard run and Harvard (7-0, 4-0 Ivy League Conference) led 20-9 at half time.

Dartmouth (5-2, 3-1) scored on a 2-yard TD run by Kyle Bramble, but Alex Gakenheimer’s point-after try was blocked. Gakenheimer kicked field goals of 30 and 22 yards. Dalyn Williams was 16 of 26 for 210 yards passing for the Big Green.

Andrew Flesher kicked a 33-yard field goal for Harvard.

The game marked the 118th meeting between the teams in a rivalry dating to 1882.
