WASHINGTON — It’s getting cooler outside, which means the holidays are around the corner. And with the holidays, you may want to do some traveling — maybe to see family, maybe for a vacation.
Scott McCartney, a Middle Seat Columnist at the Wall Street Journal, says the weekend is the best time to look for airline tickets.
In his recent column, McCartney cites Airlines Reporting Corp., which processes tickets for travel agencies.
The best day to buy airplane tickets is on Sundays, the data show. The average price was $432. At $439, Saturday’s average is also lower than Tuesday, which averages $497, McCartney wrote.
Also, there’s more international growth — and people are flying more — which has driven down the price on international rates.
