The bus adorned with the Maryland state flag promising pitch opportunities for local startups will stop by Bethesda’s UberOffices on Oct. 1.
Startup Maryland, part of a national initiative to give startups access to venture funding, is set for its third year and third consecutive year with a stop in Bethesda.
Organizers will let startup business owners aboard the bus to pitch their idea or business in their mobile video studio. Videos are uploaded to YouTube and open to votes from the public. The eight “Best Ventures for High Growth Potential” finalists will get to present at the annual TEDCO Entrepreneur Expo in November.
At each stop, organizers and local business people provide coaching and advice for refining business plans, finding angel investors and getting venture funding.
The Startup Maryland bus stopped at Bethesda Green each of the first two years of the event. This time around, it’ll set up outside the Bethesda Crossing building (formerly known as the Air Rights building).
UberOffices, an office share space that opened there in May, will host.
