PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Frick Art & Historical Center in Pittsburgh has named a new director.
The museum says in a Wednesday release that Robin Nicholson will become director on September 2. Nicholson is currently a deputy director at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.
Current Frick director Bill Bodine had previously announced plans to retire after 12 years in the position.
Frick trustee Carolyn “Cary” Reed says Nicholson will join the institution at an important time, since a new Orientation Center will open this summer and groundbreaking is scheduled for other renovations.
Nicholson, a 47-year-old native of Edinburgh, Scotland, was educated at Queen’s University in Canada and the University of Cambridge in England.
