DENVER (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton is praising Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, crediting the potential 2016 presidential candidate for being a “terrific governor.”
O’Malley appeared on stage with the former president at the Clinton Global Initiative America to announce a project in the mid-Atlantic to invest in infrastructure projects.
Clinton notes that O’Malley’s lieutenant governor, Anthony Brown, won the Democratic nomination for governor in Tuesday’s primary. He says it shows the people of Maryland “like where they’re going and believe in what they’re doing.”
He says Maryland has the highest median income in the country and some of the nation’s best-performing schools.
O’Malley is considering a White House campaign, which could hinge on whether former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton seeks the presidency.
