FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — AMC says it will set up a $25,000 reward for anyone who provides information that directly leads to the capture of the individual or individuals responsible for setting off bottle bombs in its theaters.
Fairfax county officials say the latest incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday at the AMC Tysons Corner 16 movie theater. The device exploded near theater number one toward the end of a showing of the new X-Men movie. Over 300 people were evacuated from the theater. Officials are investigating to see if the incident is connected to a similar one May 18 where two explosions occurred. No one was injured in either explosion.
Other incidents took place Saturday at an AMC theater in Largo, Maryland, and on April 5 at an AMC in Alexandria, Va.
