Va. takes a step toward Sunday hunting

WASHINGTON – There is one day in the week that it is illegal to hunt in Virginia. But hunters hope a change to that law is coming.

Jimmy Hasel, a former chairman of the Virginia Board of Game and Inland Fisheries, calls the Sunday hunting ban “the last of the blue laws,” and says hunters have been asking him for years why it still exists.

It might not for much longer – the House of Delegates passed a bill that would change that, and the Senate will vote on one next week.

If all goes well, there may be more days to hunt next season.
