WASHINGTON – They’re all gonna laugh at you. Or more likely, they’re all gonna be scared out of their minds when they’re the victims of a coffee shop prank promoting the cinematic remake of the Stephen King horror tale “Carrie.”
As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, the new “Carrie” is slated to hit theaters Oct. 18 and updates the 1976 version starring Sissy Spacek, in which a telekinetic girl takes revenge on her high school classmates on prom night.
To promote the film, Sony created a prank employing a stunt man,, remote-controlled furnishings and unknowing coffee shop customers in New York City.
