WASHINGTON – Residents who live near English Turn Court and Mansfield Club Drive in Spotsylvania County are urged to use caution after a fox either scratched or bit two people.
The sheriff’s office says the fox may be rabid.
Animal Control officers are trying to capture the fox. They’ve stepped up patrols in the neighborhood and are using humane traps.
One woman was scratched or bitten on July 7. Two weeks later, the sheriff’s office says a fox attacked and bit a man in the same neighborhood.
Residents are asked not to feed or capture the fox. People who see or come in contact with the fox should call the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office at 540- 582-7115 or 911.
