WASHINGTON – Homeowners only have a few more days to apply for the Maryland Homestead Tax Credit.
It protects against sudden increases in property tax bills due to reassessments.
The Capital Gazette reports eligible homeowners can’t have their property taxes raised more than 2 percent in a given tax year.
The deadline for applications is next Tuesday.
To check on approval for the tax credit, visit the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation’s website.
