WASHINGTON – Ten University of Maryland Students received nearly $4 million from Prince George’s County and the police department after they were injured in a riot off campus in March 2010, according to Prince George’s County spokesman Scott Peterson.
The county paid the students before lawsuits were filed. John McKenna III, who was beaten by two Prince George’s County police officers, received $2 million. The other nine students split $1.6 million.
