CLARKSBURG, Md. – Diane Cameron of the Audubon Naturalist Society was nice enough to take me on a walking tour of Ten Mile Creek west of highway 270 in upper Montgomery County, Md.
Cameron and others are worried that development close to the creek will harm the quality of the water and the wildlife.
Fortunately the Montgomery County Council, in an unanimous decision on Oct. 9, decided to have the Planning Board prepare a limited master plan amendment for Ten Mile Creek. The amendment will establish science-based water protections for the creek.
