’50 Shades’ of sultry relief: Nats’ bullpen reads erotic novel (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON – Washington Nationals pitchers aren’t typically known for rounding the bases, but a few of the team’s relievers are headed for home.

In response to a Washington Post blog about Nats slugger Michael Morse having portions of the sex-saturated “50 Shades of Grey” read to him by his fiancee, members of the team’s bullpen showed off their own attraction to the erotic novel.

Watch below as Sean Burnett, Tyler Clippard, Ryan Mattheus and Craig Stammen — used to facing down opposing batters in hot, steamy conditions — share their favorite sultry-toned passages from the tale of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.

And don’t worry: They’re “so ready to play baseball.” At the end, it’s clear the reading is a bit tongue-in-cheek.
