Men more nervous about texting than first kiss

WASHINGTON – The perfectly worded text message can be just as effective as a handwritten love letter.

But writing that 160-character message that produces butterflies in her stomach is one of the most frustrating things for single men, at least according to a recent survey.

TSB Magazine, a website that provides dating advice for men, asked readers to choose the worst parts of dating. Choices ranged from texting, knowing how to rescue an awkward conversation, and knowing when to take a chance and lean in for the first kiss.

Everything from word choice, punctuation and quantity of text messages can make or break a relationship.

And we won’t even get into the dreaded auto correct errors that can sink a budding romance.

Thirty two percent of readers chose knowing when and what to text to a woman as the most confusing aspect of dating.

Following up the confusion of text messaging, 22 percent of readers said knowing how to rescue an awkward conversation was also hard. Coming in third was knowing when to lean in for the first kiss.

Luckily, the founder of TSB Magazine, Bobbi Rio, has released a video explaining how to start a text conversation with a woman.

Rio says most men make the same three mistakes when texting:

  1. Sending a boring message serves no point, ie. “How are you doing?” or “What’s going on?”
  2. Messaging a woman too much and too often.
  3. Trying to have a conversation over SMS.

Rio claims to have the magical three messages that can turn men into Cyrano.

He shares what he calls the “Key Lock Sequence” on his site MagneticMessaging.com.
