H&M has been busy in the Washington market.
The retailer, which just last week signed a lease for Chevy Chase Pavilion, is now headed to Silver Spring. The hip clothing store will take over 18,000 square feet of a former Borders location in The Peterson Cos.’ Downtown Silver Spring development, on the corner of Fenton Street and Ellsworth Drive.
Downtown Silver Spring is owned by Peterson Cos, Foulger-Pratt Cos. and ARGO Investment Co.; Peterson manages and leases the development. It is now 93 percent leased with this latest deal.
H&M has been scouting several Washington-area sites with Cushman & Wakefield Inc. broker Dave Dochter.
The Silver Spring store will open in September.
