WASHINGTON – Getting away can be difficult and expensive, but did you know it’s cheaper to fly on some weekends?
WTOP scouted out the the cheapest weekends to fly.
This coming weekend is one of least expensive of the year. The weekend of Feb. 3 to Feb. 5 also is less expensive because demand traditionally drops during the heart of winter.
George Hobica of AirfareWatchdog.com compiled a list of a dozen weekends this year when flights are the cheapest:
- Jan. 27 – Jan. 29
- Feb. 3 – Feb. 5
- Sept. 7 – Sept. 9
- Sept. 14 – Sept. 16
- Sept. 21 – Sept. 23
- Sept. 28 – Sept. 30
- Oct. 5 – Oct. 7
- Oct. 19 – Oct. 22
- Nov. 3 – Nov. 5
- Nov. 30 – Dec. 2
- Dec. 7 – Dec.9
