WASHINGTON – Three people were arrested in Montgomery County on Monday after an off-duty police officer caught them stealing a police radio and vest from a cruiser, authorities say.
The incident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. near Georgia Avenue and Hildarose Drive.
After the officer caught the three suspects — two men and a juvenile — they fled in a minivan that was reported stolen on Sunday. They abandoned the car and were arrested in Silver Spring.
