SILVER SPRING, Md. – A 68-year-old man has been charged by Montgomery County police for killing a woman he claims is his wife.
Montgomery County police charged Henry Hutchins early Sunday morning with killing 62-year-old Carol Carter. Police could not confirm that Hutchins and Carter are married.
Carter was found dead Saturday afternoon in the bedroom of her White Oak area apartment. She had wounds to her upper body, but police have not released details about the nature of her injuries.
Police say Hutchins called police to report the Carter had died, and claimed at that time that she was his wife.
He was immediately taken into custody for questioning, and is being held without bond. A bond review hearing is scheduled for Monday.
